(Volume 4 of the
Mineralogical Almanac)
(Soft back)
(Second hand copy in 'as new' condition)
The Mineralogical Almanac is published in association with the Russian Geological Society and is packed with information and beautiful photographs of minerals and their localities.
This special issue is devoted to the famous Dalnegorsk mining region in the Russian Far East, 300 km northeast of Vladivostok. It has been known for more than one hundred years and has produced some outstanding mineral specimens.
Dalnegorsk has produced over 130 mineral species including the world's best specimens of ilvaite, datolite, and pyrrhotite and remarkable specimens of quartz, galena, sphalerite, arsenopyrite, and fluorite. The region comprises 9 different deposits. The most notable feature is probably the giant mineralised cavities in the skarn deposits lined with crystals.
This is an academic but highly attractive, glossy publication. It will appeal to anyone interested in the minerals of Russia.
Published by the Mineralogical Almanac. 2001. Numerous maps, diagrams and colour photographs. Softback. 128 pages. 'As new' condition.
