Sawn into two halves and polished


110 million years old
(Cretaceous period)


Mahajanga Province, North-west Madagascar


An ammonite cut in half and polished to reveal the inner chambers of the original shell. The chambers have been infilled with crystals of the mineral calcite.  

A lovely little item.
