This rare and highly attractive type of marble contains orange-coloured crystals of clinohumite (magnesium silicate) and black hercynite (a variety of spinel).
Marble is a metamorphic rock formed from limestone that has been heated and recrystallised, creating new minerals and turning it into a completely different rock.
