‘Cherry cake rock’ is a name sometmes given to an amphibolite rock from Southern Norway, characterized by red almandine garnet crystals embedded in a black hornblende and white plagioclase feldspar matrix, reminiscent of cherries in a cake.
An interesting specimen.
