Wheal Phoenix, Minions, Linkinhorne, Cornwall

Deep green micro crystals of the rare copper iron phosphate mineral chalcosiderite in gossan matrix from Wheal Phoenix in Cornwall. Wheal Phoenix is the type locality for chalcosiderite.

The Phoenix Mine was worked for copper in the latter half of the nineteenth century and yielded many fine specimens.
