CELESTITE CRYSTALS

Yate, near Bristol

A large and heavy block of celestite with numerous crystals visible.

Celestite is the main ore of Strontium. Strontium makes flames burn bright red and is therefore used in fireworks and warning flares.

Celestite is a very heavy mineral. This piece is solid celestite and is consequently very heavy for its size. It was collected in the late 1970s.

Please note: This piece weighs nearly 2.5 kilograms.

A four-pronged acrylic stand is included.
