From an original UK museum specimen
An impressive cast, in plaster, of an ichthyosaur skull from an original specimen of Ichthyosaurus communis from the Lower Lias of Lyme Regis, Dorset. The skull is in strong relief with over 50 teeth showing in the snout.
Ichthyosaurs were fast swimming marine reptiles from the Jurassic period. Marine reptiles such as this dominated the Jurassic seas.
This reproduction was cast by Stuart Baldwin's company Educational Palaeontological Reproductions in the 1990s and has subsequently been hand painted.
It is provided with a label on the back and metal rings for wall hanging.
