CARNELIAN

Collection of tumble-polished carnelian
pebbles from UK beaches

Carnelian (also spelled cornelian) is an orange variety of chalcedony and a semi-precious stone. Its colour is due to iron oxide.

These pebbles are from an old collection and said to have all been collected at various times from beaches around the UK. Carnelian is most common on the east coast from Aberdeen down as far as Kent.

Presented in a plastic display box.
