Dean Quarry is situated on a large intrusion of gabbro which has veins containing minerals of the zeolite group. Most prominent of these is analcite, or analcime, which occurs in white crystals. Natrolite is also present, in a minor spray of prismatic crystals.
This specimen was collected in 1973 and is from an old collection.
