AMETHYST CRYSTALS - Cornwall
« backAMETHYST CRYSTALS
Lower Bostraze China Clay Pit,
near St. Just, Penwith Peninsula, Cornwall
Pale amethyst crystals lining a vein in kaolinised granite. The crystals are very pale but this is an excellent example of an amethyst quartz 'vugh' from a china clay pit.
An attractive specimen from an unusual locality. It was collected in 1985 and is from an old collection. The pit is now closed and flooded.
