Amazonite is a blue-green variety of the potassium feldspar microcline, sometimes called ‘Amazon stone’.
Colorado is famous for beautiful amazonite crystals from granite pegmatites. Native American tribes knew about the stone and traded amazonite beads.
This piece has a lustrous cleaved surface.
