ORDNANCE SURVEY 'EXPLORER' MAP
OF THE ISLE OF WIGHT

1:25,000 scale or 2.5 inches to 1 mile

Map No. OL29

The Isle of Wight is known for its spectacular geology and fossils, particularly the south coast of the island where numerous dinosaur species have been uncovered and there is the purpose-built dinosaur museum 'Dinosaur Isle' at Sandown.

This map covers the whole of the island and is essential for anyone intending to seriously look for fossils here. Other geological highlights on the island are the chalk cliffs of the Needles, the coloured sands of Alum Bay, and the younger fossil sites on the north coast where crocodile bones have been found.

It also includes a large area of the mainland including Gosport, Lymington and parts of Portsmouth and the New Forest.

This map is in very good condition. New maps currently retail at £8.99 each.
